I am feeling so much anxiety for Gloria and Robbie at this point in the book! It has been difficult to read. Yes, there are ghosts, but they aren't as scary as the people of Gracetown. I realize that this is "just a story" but I also know what it isn't far from fact of what people went through in the Jim Crow south. If there ever was a book needing trigger warnings, this is it.

I’m struggling to maintain an interest in this book. I’m a third of the way in and so far it’s just boring. I’m going to put it down for a while and read something else and the try again.

Holy smokes!! What an exciting book this is so far!

I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Rachel Harrison. I appreciate the way she writes women coming into their own power. I’m half way through this book and am comparing it to Cackle and how both books show how women grow such confidence and self worth through their transformation.

Ok, giving this book another chance. Once Helen is in Scotland and the cottage, the book gets better.

Oof. I just can’t get into this book. I don’t like the writing style at all and there are too many books I want to read to keep drudging along with this one. Such a shame.

Ok, the maid is from Mexico, but if the author is going to use Spanish in her book, she really should at least have a grasp of actual Spanish and the lingo. As a Spanish speaker, I am put off by all the inaccuracies with it. Why not just stick to English?

I know that it is still early, I've only read 30 pages, but I am loving the premise of this book! I have no idea which life is "real" at this point. I hope it is the one with the lovely green bedroom. It is, as noted in the book description, very reminiscent of Sliding Doors.

Really enjoyed this book. The choices you make will determine the rest of your life.

I was in the mood for some light reading and this is okay so far. I wouldn't say that I would read another book by this author though. A little too light. Vocabulary is very simplistic and repetitive.
