Revisiting this one. I read it when I was so young that I remember the basic framework, but not the nuances. I don't remember it being quite so heartbreaking as I feel it is now.

Amazon posted a list off 100 Science Fiction & Fantasy books to read in a lifetime. I've read 76 of 100. I may have a problem.

I picked this one back up. I've made it further than previously. However, I still feel like it is a hot mess of a story so far.

This book keeps breaking my heart, over and over. I am not ashamed to admit it. In fact, I think you should let it break your heart, too.

It is Sci-fi & Fantasy week on Good Reads. Hmm. Just about every week is Sci-fi & Fantasy week for me. :D

I mostly like this so far. Mostly. But, damn, CM uses a lot of words at times, and then my mind starts to drift.

This book is totally captivating. I wish the real world would pause for a while so that I can finish it.

Total fangirl moment this weekend. I was volunteering at the MoPop booth at Norwescon. A familiar face walked by and I glanced down at the name tag. Yep, it was G. Willow Wilson! How cool is that?

Nearing the end. This is another bland UF offering.

The racial and sexist over tones scream that this was written in a by gone era. On racism front, I am still trying to decide if the author is obtuse or deliberate to make a statement. On women - I think he not only missed the boat, but didn't even make it to the dock.

So far, this book has been pretty dull and predictable. Although the characters in the book are totally gullible despite being portrayed as savvy and cautious. Sigh.

Not sure that this author has ever heard "show not tell."

Still not sure if I like this book. There are moments that I am fully engaged and finding it rather clever, but then there are moments when I just want the author to get on with it and get somewhere.

Back to this one. It looks like I made it much further in my first attempt than I thought

Why did I put off reading this one? Excellent scifi!

Still making my way through. Things have picked up.

This has gotten much better over time. The writing can still be a bit dry, which I suspect is a product of the time period in which it was written. But, I've been better able to focus on the heart of the story.

So far I am back and forth with this one. Some moments, it grabs me. Others seem to drag.
