I didnt enjoy this as much as I enjoyed Dharma Bums. This story was still full of cross America adventure and exciting tales. I think I missed all the philosophical musings of the characters in Kerouac's other book.

Margaret is on page 103 of 288 of The Golden Spruce: A True Story of Myth, Madness, and Greed

This is great so far! I’ve learned so much about the logging industry and the settling/colonization of the west coast by Europeans and others.
I had no idea that otter pelts played such a big part in BC’s history!
I’m now looking forward to the myth, madness, and greed as advertised on the cover as the second half of the book develops.
