Political drivel. Author bemoans through female characters the plight of females. Women, though all of them are highly successful, are less than men. Women can't walk down alleyways, go to gas stations at night, or ride bikes in broad daylight. Lesbian couple, and prayers, "not to God" but to the world.

Interesting, but the hostility and the outright hatred toward the protagonist is odd and doesn’t sit well, it feels apportioned simply to add mystery, to accrue possible suspects.
