Oh, Lannon, you wet noodle. I wish you were more engaging.

So, so many notes. One thing is for certain, however... I agree with Doanan.

Finished the chapter with the assassin. I have an issue with the idea that, despite *familial* similarities between the assassin and his second cousin, I truly doubt anyone who knows him well would mistake the assassin for his second cousin. I just don't believe that.

Also, still too many points of view. The author could do to learn how to express many different people and daily life without so much POV.

I feel like this is getting better. We finally, after nine chapters, revisited *someone's* point of view instead of being introduced to anew character. Likewise, we got to see the Emperor, his Chancellor, and the eldest Prince interacting, which had more flow than I expected.

And, FINALLY, we see the assassin again. Hello, violent one. You have many emotional problems.

Hello, young prince. This chapter wasn't bad either. Gay relationship potential: Prince Aliver and his friend Melio. Lots of potential between those two, and Aliver's teenage angst over 'carnal desire' that was not gender-specific. Aliver's aloofness could easily be explained via an attempt to quell certain feelings about his friend as well. Unfortunately I doubt it will come to anything.

So far I see an assassin that's epically serious, a King that's epically too-good-natured, a Princess that's epically pretty and innocent, and a chancellor who did something I wasn't expecting and so far is my favorite character. I just wish the last moment in his chapter was presented differently. But, this is very early. Too early to say too much about it yet beyond first impressions.
