It's satisfying to be fed the basics of Orthodoxy in such a straightforward way. A lot of gaps are being filled for me especially regarding the Trinity, which I seem to have taken for granted more than I realised. Great stuff

A lot easier to read than I expected. Imagine a Jonathan Pageau video except in condensed, written form. St Gregory explains things very clearly most of the time, but then he also says things like "It is clear to everyone that whatever belongs to material pleasure consists assuredly of earth and water" and I'm like ??? Hahaha! Wonderful! I'll try for my brain not to explode before finishing it, but it's tough.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to read this now, and DBH's tone isn't exactly incentivizing me to make an exception. Maybe I'll come back to it one day when I need big words I can use in arguments against atheists.

Why am I willing to read this but not an actual history book? Also, it's very long. Also, why did he even write this when he could've been writing Winds of Winter?

I love me some Alan Watts. Some of it flies over my head, but most of it hits hard and takes me to the world where I'm at home, where nothing on earth could be boring or trivial. Insofar as words can do that.

I'm reading this very slowly. It's dense with meaning and I find that the diagrams slow my progress; they take a while to digest even though they're insanely repetitive. I guess the book is difficult because it's trying to teach you a way of thinking rather than telling you a bunch of stuff.

There's nothing like reading about the INCREDIBLE, UNDENIABLE, URGENT IMPORTANCE of sleep to keep you up at night - because pressure.

I accidentally bought the ebook on Amazon lol, but haven't regretted it for a moment since. I wouldn't have believed reading Matthieu book about symbolism could be as or more insightful than listening to him and his brother talk about it on Youtube. I also thought I knew most of what's to know already - I was wrong. It's been great and I've had to take a break to not go crazy.
