Even though this book is set so long ago and draws from feelings today, and is based in more severe times, it's making me think too much. All I can think of now is my friends. The ones who grew up in predominantly white countries, the ones who grew up closer to their home countries and how we all, at the end of the day, doubt ourselves and speak in a way that we need to prove ourselves to everyone.
