Not what I expected at all. I’m nearly done and it’s brilliant.

Really funny, he writes with such humanity. I wasn’t expecting to like this as much, but of course I am.

An American style gumshoe noir thriller set in pre-war Nazi Germany. What’s not to love. Brilliant start, well written.

This is definitely of it’s time and class. It’s another world. Very much of the exposition / action genre.

Brilliant book, really enjoying it. Probably finish this later.

Just started this this morning. It's the next book club read. Very engaging written style. I have a physical cot of the book. The typeface is unique as well, in a good way. It feels older somehow.

Not my usual fare. Book club read. It’s not a bad start but I’m not overly happy about the narrator comments every now and again. Are they patronising?

This is outside of my usual far but is very good thus far. A doorway into a world completely different to mine and fascinating because of that.

Took a while to get into but this is a very creepy story. The book itself is a work of art so it's not an easy read and not one that can be digitised. It's right on the line between genius and self indulgent but i do really want to see where the actual tale goes.

Just finished story 2. After a confusing start this book finds its get really well. Hugely entertaining. 3 mysteries.

As I have covid I’ve decided to go comfort reading and reread this series piece by piece. It’s like a warm literary blanket.

There is a question over whether I will finish this book on holiday. Other reds kept getting in the way. Now I’ve given it a few hours I’m back into the rhythm of out however and while a bit grip ALL of the plot lines are really compelling. I’m loving this.

Holiday reading is the best reading. This has me chuckling away. Even without Clovenhoof this is very funny.

I wanted to read these in order. They are real Page turners. I picked this up, thought “I’ll just see how it starts” then suddenly I was 100 pages in. I’ll do the rest in order if I can. It’s a fun read. Don’t think too hard about how he falls into trouble over and over again but just enjoy the fact that he does.

This is really flying now. As brilliant read. I have no idea where we are going the the journey is a wonder. It reminds you why you read.

I've just started this book and it is REALLY funny. Also kind of nice in places. I do not often laugh out loud at books but for this one I have several times.
More later but thus far, unexpectedly great. I expected good, but not this good.

Chapter 23.

Promising start. Full of suspense and sub plots, but can it deliver what it promises and maintain the pace?

This is a delightful read. I was bought as a gift for me so I did not know what to expect but the wordplay and the adventure are brilliant. It is so full of amazing scenes and ideas that it is a genuine joy.
