Okay I know the Judge is going to be a horrific villain and there’s a lot of symbolism in his opening scene placing him as a direct contrast to the Reverend, but lowkey that was really funny

Cormac McCarthy how hard would it really be to use quotation marks

Picked this up in chapters today. It’s not like I also have 5 other books I’m currently reading or anything…

I’m going to throw up. If Rocky dies alone in space I will throw up

If Rocky dies I’m throwing this book

Okay I take it all back. Just hit Ch 13 and I’m loving it now. A lot more interesting now that Rocky is here

This book is taking me forever. The first 20% was so good but I feel like it’s slogging a bit now

Is it possible to finish a book with 117 chapters? Let’s find out.

I’m so excited about this book

I’d never considered that Vin hasn’t seen the stars before and now I want to cry

Okay never mind I think she’s alive

Dude she’s totally in an institution

Is she in a mental hospital?? I’m getting some energy that she maybe killed Shannon and has been institutionalised all this time

This book is so batshit haha

“…the wicked will be made to stumble by calamity” and then her foot gets caught in a bear trap, brilliant

The grey light oh my god kill me now it’s too sad

Again with her silhouette being illuminated! I’m going to have to go through this book and mark every time he mentions it

“But I suppose you wouldn't, Stevens, because you're not curious. You just let all this go on before you and you never think to look at it for what it is.”

Clock him

He’s really trying so hard to defend his devotion to Darlington. The more he reflects the more it sounds like he’s trying to justify it to himself rather than the reader so he doesn’t feel like he’s wasted his life
