Reading this with a small group of men. Each chapter has had 1-2 good points, but this doesn’t need to be a full-length book—it would be better as a list. It also occasionally engages in spiritual bypassing or overriding without taking into account certain possibilities in people’s individual realities. In Chapter 4 he just made fun of people (including his college self) “who didn’t know how to pray.”

I learned that Muslims have been in the United States since before it was the United States. Since the 1500s, and possibly earlier.

Still relevant today. 55 years later.

Gut-wrenching finish to Chapter 4. The resolve of Stevenson’s hope will keep me going.
