Currently listening to the audible book read by Thadiwe Newton while Sophie reads our paperback

We are not enjoying this; it may go on the DNF list. We do not like that the kids keep talking to and trusting strangers (my kids: "what's wrong with these kids?! Don't talk to him!"), and the professor asks them to lie to their parents about what they're doing when they visit his house (another thing my kids pointed out was Not Good). We are agreed it gives us the creeps. Def affecting my critical tho'ts overall.

We stumbled on this while shopping for a birthday present book for a boy, and it just happened to be when I was planning for our upcoming poetry unit. We are enjoying this book so far!

Volume 2, Ch whatever. Survived the rotten trip to Sotherton and the theatre stress. These people are a mess!! And Aunt Mrs. Norris—Ugh! Can’t help but wonder what disaster is in the making for Fanny at this ball....

Turns out I haven’t read this before, only seen a movie, which I’m not sure is very accurate. Hmm.

Oh my word, I wanna smack Mrs. Elton. Still waiting for another Emma mess....she imagines too much and is bound to get into trouble somehow. Definitely needs a hobby

Hmm, not sure what to think about a book that begins with a pig in the hotel...

We gave this up because A thought the mysterious fellow was too scary. I’m not interested enough to finish it without them
