I can’t make myself finish this book. I wanted to like it, but I just can’t get past her hierarchy of grief. What’s the point of saying that unexpected loss is far worse than other losses — and comparing other forms of loss to stubbing your toe? It just comes across as if the author wants to out-grieve everyone. Based on reviews, this book has messages that help readers, but I wasn’t feeling it.
