Thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is refreshing in the treatment of its fantasy tropes and that takes some doing these days. It's like Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London series, and Richard Adam's Dirk Gently. The skill is to do it differently to them and Simon Kewin does it with a touch of Raymond Chandler with his attention to detail and engaging characters that keep you guessing. Highly recommended.

The pace is breath-taking. The first set action piece is bigger, more exciting than the final climax of virtually every book I've read.

I am loving how this is starting to build once again. In a new and even more exciting way.
