Was reading this on the bus as usual so I ended up having to stop mid-way through the climactic chapter.

Some nasty Robert Kirkman shit going on in this last chapter. Messed up. Interesting to see their plan coming together. Made me picture Rhett and Link having to figure out a way to write themselves out of the situation they made. Doesn't feel like it all flows as effortlessly in that sense I guess, but that's how stories are sometimes.

Janine is gonna have a hell of a time trying to put this documentary together if they have to edit around all the times they suddenly stop recording. Trust me, I've recorded stuff like this before and it's always a pain in the ass trying to come up with some sort of framing device after the fact. But I guess that's how documentaries are. Still, if you're not recording you have nothing.

We're reaching unprecedented levels of made-up meter bullshit.

I get that we're supposed to be somewhat sympathetic to Whitewood now but their backstory doesn't explain why they literally talk and present themselves like a diabolical mastermind.

How'd J not get caught anyway?

I was strongly considering buying this book for a friend until that last bit with Golgo. I still might, but it seems like a weirder gift now. Not sure why that bit was included. Anyway, this has suddenly gotten super dense with lore and worldbuilding. It felt intriguing before, but now I feel like I can barely follow any of it.

Wow. Okay. Didn't know Rhett and Link had this in 'em.

The art of the snowstorm is pretty cool. Anyway, Scott sucks.

As charming as I remember, but for better or for worse the dialogue pacing of the film adaptation is now burned into my brain which really changes the way I read the story I think.

Seems like it's finally all coming together but there's about a third of the book still left to go.

Big fan of Gerund and also the one panel where T-O-E has Donny from The Big Lebowski on their face.

I remember stumbling upon this as a webcomic back when I was deep into my phase of picking up reading every webcomic I came across and then never finishing them, so when I came across this physical copy in the library I took it as a sign that I should finally take in the full story. Love the character designs, especially T-O-E.

Um ok interesting

I'm not worried, I don't think this book would get much more bleak than it already is. I'm over halfway through, surely it's reached peak bleak by now.

With the art in Problem Sleuth being purposely very simplistic and often crude it's easy to forget that Hussie is actually a pretty great artist, but there's a lot of really great looking stuff in this chapter. Love the building being torn from the ground. Also I'm pleasantly surprised to realize all or at least most of the commands are still reader-input. Thought they phased it out by this point. Guess not.

The most confusing aspects of it all to me right now are the kingdom locations and the save states. The save states I'm mostly able to look past, the kingdom locations is throwing me off a bit. Yes I have read this already but I can't be expected to remember what the hell was goin on with this comic.

It's not my imagination, the chapters are like twice as long now. I'm already over halfway through the book and only two chapters in.

Perhaps it's getting a little too dark. Like it's already been pretty bleak up to this point but it's really getting to be a bit much here. Like cartoonishly evil but painfully humanly cruel. It's a weird choice. I'm interested to see where it's going, though.

As they leave the comfort of the area surrounding the imaginary office building things start to feel perhaps a bit TOO convoluted. Clearly they were very straightforward up until now... Anyway, how about that dead flash link, huh? Sucks.

It's just striking me how up until this last chapter the plot had been pretty much nothing like what I expected. Going into this blind I thought it'd be a little more fantastical or whimsical, like maybe there's ghosts or whatever, but instead it's just been about a depressing small town where they torture kids. Not a complaint, just very unexpected. Anyway, good trail mix should have more than three components.

Candy-oriented assault = a comic after my own heart.

I'm really glad I decided to reread the physical PS collection I received last Christmas rather than the original web comic. That remains the optimal format of course, but it's really nice to experience it again in this new way with some extra commentary. Thank you for the gift, Feather (:

Sea life is a perfect showcase of Graham's macabre and visceral, yet whimsical style. I especially love the simplified background art in the first few panels. Really puts an emphasis on the protagonist and how out of place or out of sorts they are.

I keep falling asleep before I can log that I've read more of this. Anyway, it rocks.

What a glorious waste of time.
