I'm really not enjoying this book. Should have just given up on it rather than persevere in reading to the end. Keep hoping something will happen that will redeem it in my opinion.

Still struggling with this book---am so ready for it to end. What keeps me going are the delightful interactions between the main character and his little girl London.

Really struggling with this book---the narrative is hard to follow and I'm still wondering where it's heading.

Slow reading. I'm having some difficulty keeping up with the many characters. I am definitely not enjoying it as much as I did Doc by this author.

This book is living up to all the high reviews I saw on Goodreads. Of course, having visited Dodge City, KS a few times makes it more meaningful to me.

I am enjoying this book SO MUCH! It relates the history of New York City from 1661 when a brother and sister, Sally and Lucas Turner, arrive there as immigrants through the year 1798. The novel shares the history of NYC through events in the lives of Lucas' and Sally's descendants . There is an emphasis on developments in medicine and medical treatments. FASCINATING READING!

Definitely not enjoying this book as much as her previous ones. There is some interesting history in it but way too much detail. It's very slow reading.
