I've been reading it off an on today and I don't remember when was the last time a book gave me so much anxiety... I have issues with abandonment and just reading about someone getting left stirs so much uncomfortable anxiety in me, but besides that Belle's whole background (and her ex-husband's) reads so entitled and "rich people problems" tbh

going slowly with this one because I still can't believe other people can view others as animals/non-human

you don't understand how much I am obsessed with this strange man's writing (the only men I read are gay tbh)
his writing is so weird and makes me cackle so bad

such an interesting, dense read !!!! also found out that Frances Burney (one of Jane Austen's faves) wrote one of the first earliest accounts of mastectomy!!! that was performed on her with no anaesthetic
