This just hit so hard on the topic of isolating… “Sometimes I feel like a guest in a house full of loving people I barely know, and I see a wide open yard out back, and think, ‘that’s where I want to be’, and so I walk outside. Sometimes the biggest struggle in earning your freedom is is feeling like you deserve it.

DNF. Have you ever read a book that just screams “I HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY A MAN”? Yeah, it’s one of those. The misogyny is DRIPPING off the pages, I cannot do it.

“God - or whoever is in charge of this planet - got drunk on the job one day and decided to give me the gift of writing. The way I see it, I have two choices. I can set that gift on a high shelf so it won’t get dinged up and nobody can make fun of me for playing with it. Or I can have fun with it and play with the gift until the wheels come off. I think I may have actually just swooned…

If I read one more line like the following: “Avery’s voice softens a tiny bit and her arms relax to her sides, which improves Cameron’s view of her perfect little chest.” I might actually barf. Is this how men truly think? I mean I get it, you’re trying you write from the perspective of a 30 year old man as a woman but like really? It’s making me despise this character.
