DNF. Have you ever read a book that just screams “I HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY A MAN”? Yeah, it’s one of those. The misogyny is DRIPPING off the pages, I cannot do it.

“God - or whoever is in charge of this planet - got drunk on the job one day and decided to give me the gift of writing. The way I see it, I have two choices. I can set that gift on a high shelf so it won’t get dinged up and nobody can make fun of me for playing with it. Or I can have fun with it and play with the gift until the wheels come off. I decided to play.”

I think I may have actually just swooned…

If I read one more line like the following: “Avery’s voice softens a tiny bit and her arms relax to her sides, which improves Cameron’s view of her perfect little chest.” I might actually barf. Is this how men truly think? I mean I get it, you’re trying you write from the perspective of a 30 year old man as a woman but like really? It’s making me despise this character.

“What if there’s not one thing - not even half a thing - that you need to add to yourself before you can live the way you want to live? What if all you need is enough openness to see yourself from a different perspective? What if you don’t need steady correction, you just need steady connection?” WOW. This is so relevant to me right now.

The introduction already made me emotional, and made me feel seen…so I have high hopes for this book!
