I Will Survive
I liked it OK. writing and narration is still fantastic, and I’m discovering that I really like the short story format. This particular story didn’t do it for me. I didn’t love the characters or their actions, but listening to John tell Jeremy his backstory was endearing. Amor Towles is great at writing intriguing little old men characters!

Loved it.
Still loving the writing. What a talented narrator too, same guy I assume? It was completely different and unique in this story but just as great as the others. This story was a little heartbreaking and a little like watching a train wreck. I love the short story format for it though, I think had it been a full novel it would lose some of its charm. That being said, I want to know more!

Going to try to comment after each story, since I know by the end of the audio book I’ll forget!

Loved it. Loved the characters and the portrayal of Bolshevik Russia, and the coming to America. The writing and audio narration were perfect.

Liked it. I still love the writing and audio narration. This one wasn’t as endearing, Timothy is just an idiot.

In the mood for something fast pasted, but not necessarily action/adventure. Something humorous, but not necessarily romcom. Suggestions?

😩 wtf is going on??? Everything seems to be coming to a nice neat ending, and I still have two hours left. Some other big “twist” is coming, any bets it’ll be in the last five pages?

…I’m like 14/18 hrs through the audiobook, I have about 4 hrs left. Thus far I’ve liked it, but things were just revealed. And I have feels. And I need to debate with someone. And no one I know personally has read the book to discuss with me!

Because the obvious is no longer obvious in today’s world. In today’s world a lot of what should be obvious has been turned upside down. The week are used as stepping stones and those in need are taken advantage of. People just get caught up in this pattern. Nobody stands up and calls for it to stop.
