The man certainly does "write like he's running out of time". It is absolutely INCREDIBLE what this man accomplished. He is definitely Washingtons opposite. Washington was slow to speak knowing enemies were easier to make than friends. Hamilton never thought twice about saying what he felt he needed to. He was a fast moving spitfire to Washingtons calm, slow decision making. Opposites coming together. Spectacular.

Martha named their tomcat Hamilton. So hysterical and priceless.😅 George Washingtons "family" and how they together, as well as independantly, shaped this Nation is astounding. A group of men who shouldn't have found each other, did, and none of them are anything like the other. A beautiful puzzle of personalities and talents.

Three hours of blueberry picking in the rain with Washington and my face isn't wet from the downpour. Ugh. My heart is so heavy for the sacrifices of this great man that men of the time were either jealous of or refused to acknowledge. Humans are the same in every generation. Sinful, selfish, and cruel. I always romanticized the early American days. Now, reality has struck.😭

Here I am in the Hiawatha picking blueberries and laughing out loud to Hamilton's dare and Washington's reaction to it. The ravens and bluejays didn't get the joke, unfortunately 🤣

I was warned while listening to this engaging, large tome that I would come to "the glasses" chapter. "Be prepared for something powerful," they said (or something close to that). The scene appeared just as I was finishing my makeup.😭The glasses. Oh, my heart. Man could never write something so touching. God is the most brilliant author. Who needs mascara, anyway😅

Dancing three hours (in front of Martha) with a young beauty who has named a child after you? Something tells me if Washington were allowed to be the King David he seems to have been to our Nation, he'd have many wives. Martha is a woman who was way more accommodating than I would have been. But. Perhaps his flirtatious spirit towards the female species is innocent. Even so, I can't help but see this as a flaw.

How can one be so knowledgeable and great at so many things???? One word: God. Washington was placed at a specific time in history to shape our nation, this is evidently clear.

Martha is now on the scene and it blows me away that the pair were only 26 (?) and gave accomplished SO much. What rich personalities and what a fantastic read this is....and how timely to celebrate America's 250th birthday. George Washington is a legendary figure worthy of our history books. Absolutely astounding.

.... bawling.....and the Fitz hasn't even wrecked yet. 😭💔 Bacon, you posses a talent I wish I could bottle up and consume 💔

I can NOT remember a time when I have been so geeked out and so invested in a book. Any book. Fiction or non. If HBO could please make Bacon's book into the visual masterpiece it is in my mind, my world would be rocked. HBOs Chernobyl comes to mind when I think of the Fitz becoming an incredible series.

This is the most engaging, refreshing read. I am throughly loving this book. The men of the Fitz are colorful and astounding and I would love to meet them all.

I read these portions in the Hiawatha camping. So. Neat. To be in the same Hiawatha as Jonathan, Izzy, and their Ojibwe family.

The subtle visuals written for the characters are spectacular
