After so long, I think it's time to admit that I just don't care that much how the story finishes. Sad to say, as I really enjoyed the first book, but I just couldn't really get into all the character motivations. Great worldbuilding, awesome magic system, but ultimately I just didn't care enough for the characters I guess. :(

It has taken a long time to get this far. For a while, I just no longer cared about the characters because their motivations no longer felt personal. That said, I’m finally being drawn in again, because the character interaction and conflict has become interesting. I hope it stays good!

The pacing and an overall lack of sense of urgency is killing me. The protagonists also seem to have almost no agency. The worldbuilding is wonderful though, I’ll give it that.

I'm not sure what to think of this book. The characters are interesting enough, I suppose, the worldbuilding is unique and wonderful, but at about 1/3 of the way done, I don't particularly care much for what's going on. Only one character has any type of a true problem, but there's no sense of urgency there. I don't feel like I need to know what happens next. We'll see how it goes I guess.
