Anne is finished with In search of England
I'm really enjoying this book, getting an impression of what England was like one hundred years ago, since this book was published in 1927 originally. Life was so different then. My copy is from 1933, already the eighteenth edition, so it must have been hugely popular right from the start.

Anne is reading Little Dorrit
I have enjoyed this book very much, though it's taken a long time to read because of other commitments. I particularly enjoyed the almost incoherent, unpunctuated outpourings of one of the characters. I did find some of the plot a little incoherent, too, but that might have been a result of reading the book in such little dribs and drabs.

Anne is reading Three Men in a Boat (Three Men, #1)
This is such a funny book. I really enjoyed reading it. A light-hearted tale of three young men, and a dog, travelling along the Thames in their boat.

Anne is reading The Listerdale Mystery and Eleven Other Stories
I do enjoy these little stories. Some of them strike me as being quite daft, but I don't care. I do find her descriptions of cars and people driving to be interesting. It shows how very different motoring used to be, and makes me wonder if Agatha herself was a keen motorist.

Very easy to read. The characters are interesting and there's plenty of plot and action. I am quite looking forward to reading the next one, and the next...

Anne is reading To Hold Infinity
I enjoyed this book. I liked the idea of taking the internet far further than it really can go. Of course, there is the dilemma of having super-intelligent characters which the reader needs to be able to understand, but I thought it was written quite well.

Anne is reading A Fortunate Grandchild
I very much enjoyed reading this short account of the author's grandparents and other family. It's a view of life in Edwardian times, lived by ordinary people, comfortably off, but not rich.
