this is cute and I want to read it, but also it hasn't hooked me quite enough to continue

enjoyed it up to this point but the constant empty-justification of slavery with not even any hints of eventual freedom, and the pushing of children into the service of armies, and the politics of it all kinda made me unhooked from it enough to stall here

stalled because while it was rather enjoyable in parts, but I agree with https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... mostly and the transition didn't keep me hooked

it's coming along good with the old sunny days :3

this is very enjoyably written but the world is so broken somewhat confused how it got to that point where they kill their firstborns and there's so many genetic mutations that they have decided to rely on one-handed people for tailoring and one-legged people for cobbling. confused indeed but I will strive to continue at some point

I've been enjoying this book so much I don't want it to end.... very excited for the sequel too.

this story continued to be excellently told, whilst playing to being "generic" but with the tells that there's a twist... lets hope it can live upto its potential

EXCELLENT start to a classic tricked into helping a god tale! but set in period Mexico!

Cass is fabulous and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the journey

I really was hyped for this book when I realised it had been released (yesterday evening). The abusive mother's arrival, however, has drained a bunch of the fun out of it... the stress of her potential power over the entire story is too harsh for me to be sucked through to the end. am not giving up on it though

well dang, its the Librarians! having an absolute tumble of a time in a seemingly endlessly complecting intrigue up to now. very engaging if a bit generic and potentially hinting at a tired Straigtness....looking forward to getting through the second half (and maybe onto the newer books such as the one that intrigued me into the series in the first place)
