I have stacks and stacks of books I mean to read and the. I go to the bookstore and pick something up and it's immediately at the top of the list.

Weird and creepy and satirical.

Recommended by a friend.

I don't know why I like Colin Wilson so much. He's kind of a kook. But his books are readable. And there are so many.

Really loving this book. It's got strong Catholic streaks through it, without being too preachy. Beautiful characters and lovely stories.

A Japanese pen pal mentioned this author. I looked through a list of his books and this one sounded the most interesting. The opening is very intense. Looks promising.

Such a soap opera.

What a great first chapter. I know with Wilkie Collins I'm in for a long, lazy, wandering novel with passionate and eccentric characters. Another book scooped up from Project Gutenberg.

I've read everything by Maugham but I am unsure if I ever read this book. Grabbed a free copy via Gutenberg. Someone mentioned the book on Bluesky and that made me go look for it. A character in the book is based on Aleister Crowley.

I was listening to a podcast on the topic of the Japanese prison camps in the USA. It was an interesting topic, bit the tone of the podcast bugged me. Decided to read about it instead. This is the first of three books I've picked up so far. As usual, I'm starting with the library boom.

Ordered this from the library. Thought it was going to be a massive picture book. I was shocked to see it is so small and cute.

In my typical backwards fashion, I saw the movie trailer, was intrigued, noted the movie was based on a book, got the book from the library.

I was worried after the first story that this was going to be dull. The second story was gripping and fun. The third is equally good, so far.

Today I have learned that "cannabis indica" can lead to a "psychical invasion" which, if untreated, can render you "spiritually insane".

This book was recommended on YouTube by the channel Liminal Spaces. The description was odd enough, I went looking for it. And it's available on Gutenberg. Snagged it.

Not sure how this popped up on my radar but I am reading it. I am surprised how funny it is.

Was listening to the audiobook and I am switching to the non-audio book. Read other books in this series and somehow missed this one. Odd.

Trying another book by Brian Evenson.

Yep, reading more Dutch detective stuff by van de Wetering. He's great.
