As much as I'm enjoying this short read filled with a mixture of fantasy, science fiction & (possibly?) time travel, I REALLY wish I hadn't read a particular review that likened it to a mixture of Doctor Who/Sherlock Holmes. Because that's all I can see now; the book does a very good job of keeping the pace up with action and dialogue, but I keep making comparisons to the aforementioned popular characters.

I'm quite surprised at how much I'm enjoying this novel now. At first it read a little slap dash, ideas and characters seemingly thrown in at the the last minute. However, after halfway through a lot of the underlying driving forces and plot directions are breaking through, making for an engaging and compelling story. Actually excited about how its going to end.

its an interesting read, flows nicely. Bit simplistic for my tastes but first person narratives kind of have to be. Bit of the old supernatural humour but nothing spectacular. For $0.99, I can't complain.

It's not as colourful as the majority of his work; it reads more like the dark stylings of The Watch novels. However, it does give a giggle and is an excellent bit of financial satire. Puns galore.

I'm a little bummed that the two main characters from the first book aren't interacting yet, but a lot of exciting visual scenes and witty puns are keeping me engrossed.

This creepy laugh out loud cuss-a-thon started out wonderfully, but its starting to get a wee bit predictable in its oh so quirky unpredictability. I intend to power through as I'm emotionally invested in the outcome of this obviously/mysteriously titled adventure.
