This book keeps making me feel right. I like feeling right.

Okay, I was wrong. Maedhros is single-handedly trying to redeem Feanor's line. I mean, he's doomed, but he's making a respectable effort at it.

Feanor may be dead, but based on immediately getting captured it looks like Maedhros is well equipped to carry on his legacy of screwing everything up.

I get that this is a fantasy realm, but the European-inspired fantasy person understands concussions and the Middle Eastern inspired fantasy people do not, while over here in the real world an Arabian scholar literally wrote the book on neurological issues. It feels like the author has allowed the need for the main character to always be right to result in some weird white (wo)man's burden shit going down.

Sex is funny, but I'm not so sure that was the intended moral here.

This is a book that revels in tearing down the convenient lies the narrator tells about herself, and this is a wonderfully satisfying, and rare, thing to read.
