Not sure I understood it all, but the audiobook was a good time.

Only history could be this weird—-an incredible story of hubris and empire.

This book is a ridiculous lesson in 20th century events told by a Swedish Forrest Gump.

I really wanted to give this book a good rating because of the subject matter more than a anything, but I can't do it. The writing is beautiful, but the story felt as though it was missing pieces, as though it was disjointed and tried to say too much without closure of all aspects of its various strains of story. It just didn't come together for me. Perhaps I'm not interpreting it was it was meant to be understood.
