Second one of hers I just could not finish. I know not everyone can be Sara Paretsky or Tana French, but jeez I wish the legions of white women pushing out mystery novels were just better.

The hype is entirely justified.

Also,really intrigued by negative reviews by fellow travelers in recovery who complain that she is "self-absorbed." I think her point is that addiction IS narcissistic, and that recovery is about learning not to be.

It doesn't bother me personally when authors choose to break their anonymity, but I wonder how people in recovery feel about her telling so many *other* people's stories.
