Harris is starting Benjamin Franklin: An American Life
The debate around inoculation is interesting in light of the present. A clergyman found the treatment via his slave, validated it through a scientific study, but Franklin... Was on the wrong side however.

Some extra reading.

So many rules! Picking this one up after a long hiatus as well. Am trying to write down some notes as I make progress into it further. I'm not used to critical reading at all, so learning to read texts in an effortful light like this is hard to get comfortable with. Inshallah, I'll come out of this mentally stronger however!

Continuing on this again after a long hiatus. I told myself to diligently employ a 'superficial read' to get me familiar with it before undertaking a proper 'analytical reading'. But I got demoralised and gave up due to not understanding it fully in the moment, something which Mortimer Adler warns of. I need to try and be content with not fully understanding a text as I make progress with it. This requires patience.

I should stop reading quick summary books of accounting as a means of procrastinating on creating a budget.

I am enjoying the author's recounting of earth's ecological history as well as more contemporary (man made) acts!

Very happy they touched upon the bond yield graph, especially since it is currently signalling a US recession may be underway!
