So dull, really considering a DNF

It’s so difficult to find original YA/NA or Fantasy novels these days, this is a book I’ve read a million times over.

It’s very The Atlas Six coded. Currently struggling to remember all six povs. Voices could be stronger. Interesting concept even though so far it doesn’t make sense how or why it would exist.

I’m already finding this dull. The voices of the women are all the same. I have no connection to these people so I don’t care what happened to the boys of the wives. I think this relies on the target audience being suburban mothers to see themself on the page as there is no character set up before the catalyst

Actually feels a bit perverse. Sapphic Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour fan fiction? Like nothing is actually like the erudite so far just the names and ideas or the six wives. Idk. It feels cringe and honestly kind of inappropriate. You could change the names and it’s just a generic fantasy, feel like the Tudor element is marketing

Pretty classic so far, I would query why this is advertised as an amazing written book. The technique is fine but not revolutionary or incredible imo. It’s interesting to see how far culture has even shifted in terms of dystopia since I first read this as a kid though.

If I have to read a romantasy that uses the phrase ‘smell my arousal’ one more time, I’m going get into a fist fight with the nearest person to me. It’s grossssss. Stfu. The book is fine, nothing special so far and a bit too formulaic with nothing stand out or unique.
