Managed to forget my ereader this morning so had to resort to the "emergency" book in my bag. Everyone has an emergency book, right?

This is quite slow going for me, with a lot of details of people and places that is passing me by. I'm also a bit weirded out by the slightly blasé attitude of the author to the actions of the Spanish in the New World

So far it's mostly been about his father Louis XI, and how his life affected his treatment of Charles VIII (spoiler: not a great dad!)

A nice survey of all the archaeological evidence for Celtic settlements in the German Hesse.

Made it through the first book (Na Mairbh a d'Fhill /The Dead who Returned) as well as the English translation and was delighted to realise that I did actually manage to understand what was going on. On to An tEiteallán Do-Fheicthe/ The Invisible Aeroplane next!

This is fun, but a bit challenging. Not only is my Irish not great, this has pre-Caighdeán spelling, which makes it harder to recognise words. (Luckily there's an English translation in it too)
