35 pages in and I'm HOOKED. I cannot wait to get home to finish it, slowly.

I am so glad the author took her time to develop the characters. I zipped through #3 without even logging that I'd finished #2. I can't wait to see how she wraps up the storyline. Each sister's part is so good!

Holy cow. I know how it ends, the Arizona lies at the bottom of Pearl Harbor. This author is keeping me on the edge on my seat.....which brothers survive? Excellent background info. Can't wait to read the rest.

I feel like I'm getting to know a wonderful woman with a sparkling spirit. I have a habit of googling authors and to my sadness, she passed in 2002. It makes her story even more poignant. I'm reading slowly, careful not to miss a single word. Her letters and journals make me feel like a mouse in her pocket.

At first I had to push past the thought that this book was a Harlequin romance paperback posing as a sweeping WWII saga in hardback. So far, better than a Harlequin and not a sweeping saga. The author's attention to social constricts of the time is what gives this book it's edge.

Spoiler alert....just finished chapter 38 and have to take a cry break. This writer is just outstanding. I have fallen in love with Ada and her family. Seriously, this whole series is some of the best fiction I've read in the past year.

Just finished chapter 11-Freedom!. Hands down the most delightful, enjoyable chapter from any book I've ever read. That chapter makes me smile with joy at this author's turn of phrase. Seriously, this book is a treasure.

It's been awhile since I started a book and immediately started to clear my calendar to read more. This book hooked me from the first chapter and I can't wait to dive in and lose some hours!

Outstanding. Jen Wilkin is a gifted teacher of God's Word.

This book is taking longer to read than usual. It's like a little jewel box of stories. Don't hurry through them or you'll miss the awesomeness!

riveting. I didn't know diddly squat about rowing before this. I was reading this at the gym and had to wipe my tears away with my towel when they won at Poughkeepsie in 1936. I will rate this one of my all-time favorite books when I'm finished. I can't wait to finish.
