Kind of funny that this came off hold at my library and I began listening to it having totally forgotten what it was about ... while I was eating my tasty late-summer Colorado peaches. Delicious.

So far the story is "meh," so hoping that picks up

Started listening to this again, got bored at 50% bc it's so repetitive, and swapped to another audio. Might come back to this one or might say enough is enough. Depends.

This book was very clearly not meant to be read one essay after another, back to back, but to be broken up over a chunk of time.
It's repetitive, but for good reason. A lot of ideas intertwine and support one another, and each essay can stand alone.

Setting this aside for a while so I don't get annoyed with the repetition.

Idk how I ended up reading 2 kinda terrifying fiction books at once, but I did... this one is the less freaky of the 2 but still pretty unsettling

Reading on recommendation from a fellow therapist. Had no idea when this was originally published when I started reading and could tell it was somewhat dated BUT NOT BECAUSE OF THE CONTENT, only the circumstances around the content. It sucks that the meat of the content is still so relevant.
