This is going on the backburner. It's far too cumbersome (large, heavy) to read comfortably, and as a result, I haven't touched in in weeks.

So I'll say it again this year: I will grow my own produce.

Perhaps I should learn Russian and then read this in the original language.

The fairly high rating is offsetting my disdain for this kind of book. Hopefully not too self-help-y.

453 pages in, and Lancelet and Gwenhwyfar just got it on. With Arthur's consent. That's a new one on me.

I don't think I read but a page or two while on the actual vacation, but this is seriously captivating enough to hold my interest through exhaustion and the cramped pain of being on a tiny regional jet flown cross country instead. Great decision, United!

Haven't had much time to read this, but when I found the foreword fascinating, I knew I found the perfect summer read!

I'm not liking Lovecraft half as well as I thought I would. What a letdown.

Despite some stellar writing, I cannot get through these short stories except by piecemeal. They are too similar/formulaic, since they all seem to unfold and end the same way!

I'm having a love/hate relationship with this book.

I use the word/term "interesting" far too often in my reviews. The next most overused word? Intriguing. I need a thesaurus.

What does it say about me if I can't stand either Dickens OR Austen?

I'm regretting not reading this instead of ripping out pics from the library copy when I was a young ne'er-do-well.
