God, this is hard to read. It’s not horrible. The plot is okay, the characters are also okay, but I feel like the actual writing is at Herbert’s worst, maybe. I don’t know what it is, but the constantly shifting perspectives and time periods is just difficult to keep track of, especially in the span of a couple of pages. I can only read a couple chapters for long periods of time, then I have to put it down.
