The story I'm reading now is called "From Go tell it on the mountain". The story is about a little boy named john and everyone wants him to be a preacher like his dad. He goes to school and everybody there says the smae thing. He has been having problems at his house so far. His birthday is coming up and he thinks noone is going to remember it again. Not even his mom.

I am reading in this story called "The convert".This is about a man doing whats right. His friend was murdered by white men. They beat his friend and wanted him to say he saw his friend reach for the gun first. Now they are in the courtroom, afraid because all the whites are in the front staring him down. He said the he wasn't sure if his friend reached for the gun. The whites got really mad that he didn't testify.
