The advanced level of corporate language used might make it difficult for readers who don't have English as a native language to understand precisely what is going on. I'm close to DNF-ing at this point if it doesn't improve.

So far, this is the mildest dark romance I've encountered; it is within the lines of the definition, and that's it. Only a mild level of spice so far. But the focus of the plot at this point is, without a doubt, on the romantic interactions.

The synopsis doesn't really portray what you're getting so far. No mention in the book of a dance studio anywhere for instance. And Emmett reaching out to Allegra because of a secret investigation is a total surprise.
