This book sucked me in very quickly! It is compelling and very well written, and to read through her point of view from the beginning on her illness is heartbreaking and informative, but crucially vital for those that want a patients honest perspective. I’m highly enjoying this read so far.

Although I have had exposure to The Artist's Way previously, I feel like this time it's an entirely new experience. I have related to so much of the content of chapter 1 and realize that I need to create a safe space for my inner child artist to create freely!

Enjoying re-reading a favorite book that I haven't read in probably over a decade.

His mom is really impressive with all she has done with her life. The author tends to bother me with his tone and attitude towards things at times, but overall still enjoying the read.

Beautiful writing, captivating storyline, can’t put it down!

I don’t know many of the books that Will and his Mom read, but I like how he ties the books theme into the overall story of the “bookclub” between him and his mother.

Just did the first exercise - it’s interesting how similar and yet how drastically different my answer is now compared to a few years ago. Still an eye- opening exercise!

There’s so many red flags with this arrangement, I am intrigued by this car wreck about to happen!

Author/narrator keeps saying “Bangle” instead of “Bangel” for Buffy + Angel and it makes me pause *every* time.

Very much enjoying this book - I can relate to a certain degree as a medical professional some of the thoughts and feelings he has.

I really like this book so far, written by an oncologist and a palliative doctor. Even though it’s from 2017, most of the information is still the same. I like how they explain their perspective or visits, what everything means, patient examples, and tips to ask your doctors. It seems really helpful for any patient (or anyone interested really) to understand more of the disease and treatments.

Well, I had concerns earlier on when the author talks about how SMG *joked* “is the restraining order still in place?” When meeting him for an interview, and he calls himself a historian.. so that’s just… interesting.

Most recently, he said “I mean, I feel like being dead is a contradiction to receiving cpr “ which is literally the only indication and seems easy to review when writing a book?
