I’m hooked

It’s really good but a really hard read. Not because of the language or style or anything, that’s easy to devour, but to read the horrors and atrocities and racism that Americans inflicted on Chinese migrants and seeing all the parallels today.

Im so tempted to stop reading this, im very bored

This book is why I’ve always read, searching to find words that describe how I’ve felt, this universal need to belong. There certainly is another layer to it, these stories of Chinese-Americans from one family, that makes my heart feel exposed and seen.
