inspired me to start my own book and shiiiii

i have not felt this strongly about a book in so long it seems even if i have almost just finished another great book by Murakami.
what will i be making of myself?
in days such as these, i don’t need as much food as an energy source, little will suffice.

i finally get an insight as to what goes on this man’s mind, when he’s writing, and how running affects that

just phenomenal

i feel like this whole story would be so much more captivating if there was more backstory of their 4 years together (aka the happy years) either right at the beginning (in comparison to tsh which starts with a new kid entering a new place with people who already had history together, this leaves u lacking and missing how good friends they actually were) or at least in the middle.
after 100 pages it goes downhill.

No less captivating, but i do feel like the connection to each character especially the main seven friends is lacking, for some more than others. Now i don’t know if that was done on purpose and what role will that play. But we will see!

The characters are so well described in a smooth flow that doesn’t give me too much information all at once, and i’m able to remember who is who, unlike (yes i’ll make a comparison to TSH, very self explanatory if you’ve read it) The Secret History (as far as i remember at least).
And its a lot less pretentious (not that i don’t like some pretentious 😏)
So far I AM HOOKED!
