The big twist was cool. But I am still finding this book to be a slog. I think it's all the shipping fodder :/.

Not keen on the Nikolai x Zoya shipping, and all these chars in various stages of grief and defeat are painful to read about :(. I'm hoping it gets more fun if I stick with it...

This book is A-MA-ZING! It has been a long time since I have been this in love with both the lead characters /and/ the author's style in a YA fantasy book.

Not enough zombies :/. So far this is just... Pride and Prejudice with Random Allusions to Eastern Martial Arts. It's bizzare, and not in a good way :/ It was an entertaining gimmick at first...but not for a whole book.

It's like reading an anime so far XD. Wildly fun and intriguing world/characters. But heavy on the exclamation points, comically timed explosions, and the female protagonist getting picked up, twirled around or otherwise jerked around by the male protagonists. I'm along for the ride, but it's a bit over the top.
