Re-reading

Well written but depressing

Very good

Somewhat disappointing.

Not as compelling as some of her other novels.

Intimate and illuminating.

She's quite precocious, but the protagonist is
also true to character, funny, and by turn depressed, frightened, self deprecating. Hard to put this one down.

Deeply felt and sincere. VG's desire to study religion and become an Evangelist was all consuming during his early adult years. Fascinating.

Excellent. Hooked me right in!

Amazing at the resilience of Cornwell, who as a child, suffered neglect and abuse at the hands of every adult in her lite with the exception of a few kind, helpful, encouraging teachers.

Loving this book!!

Excellent

There is a dreamlike quality to this book that is pulling me in deeper and deeper.

The kind of prose and subject matter thay transports the reader to another realm of existence.

Love it!
