Rest in power, Horacio Jimenez. You deserved better. 1971 police violence.

Wow, I was starting to suspect horror was making a comeback about a year ago, and between this and Moreno-Garcia, I want to upgrade that to: we are about to have a *Renaissance* in horror.

Not sure if I'm going to read this. Early on, a lie of omission (a lot of missing context) related to Native Americans entering city work forces. So - I might learn from this book. But I might also mislearn from this book? It's a reprint from 1974. Anyone have a rec for a book you liked on intersectional union labor / organizing that's a bit more recent and maybe suffers from a bit less white author bias?

This is a book for people of faith. I am a student of the Tao, a secular humanist. I'm struggling with the deeply religious narrative. Shout out to all the empathic people who helped this mother. While I will fight forever for your right to believe what you're going to believe, I am frustrated by this idea that it was G-d's plan to help Rosy but not countless other mothers in the same situation.

It wasn't until p. 93 that I felt anything ... and then I felt everything. Brother Jay knocked on the door and strode right on in and that was all it took.
