Got to the point where Hansu is a knight in shining armor for Sunja. I am afraid that this book will stab me. I know that Sunja dies in the end. I was skimming and saw that Sunja was begging to call Noa. I really hope she’s not just portrayed as a pitiful old lady whose son is cruel and dismissive of her. Because that would trigger my own trauma and guilt. I’m really happy right now not thinking of my family often.

I’ve highlighted so many parts of this book because the descriptions of adhd articulate my experience in a way I have trouble doing.

Learning that my visual thinking abilities can be used to help me in other areas of life is exciting.

While I was reading, Amy Tan did pop up in my head when Peter talks about the semi famous author. Then I come to goodreads to find someone else saying that it was a burn towards Amy Tan and my head went, “! Oh I was right,” even though I’ve yet to read a book of her’s. Someone else said that these stories get depressing and the mood IS sad.
