Stacey is starting The Business Trip
I don’t know if I can finish this. I can’t tell if the characters are supposed to be written like they’re in a bad soap opera or not.

If I saw someone reading this on the subway, airplane, bus stop , etc. I’d karate chop it out of their hands. As gently as possible. Im not a clementine, after all! Harrumph!

Unsure if I’ll finish. What’s with the homophonic comments the character makes? It’s a huge disappointment

This might be a DNF. The main character has no life skills, creates all her own problems then complains nonstop. She needs a LOT of therapy. I hope this book redeems itself as I’m halfway there

So far all these characters are a$$ hats (with one exception so far but that character I can’t say more on, or it would be a spoiler). I’m going to finish it and then write a review.

DNF - I'm going to read as the Audible narrator just didn't work for me.

I have no idea what I read. I pushed through because the writing was witty and very quotable. Like Heathers meets The Craft. I noticed I got muddled down with trying to figure it out so I stopped trying to figure it out. I appreciated the satirizing of the students/faculty and can imagine I’d hate them with equal measure. Themes of trauma, isolation, not fitting in and self-acceptance were what I took from it.

Think this would be better read than on Audible. Sticking it out but the narrator reads some characters with vocal fry but the young women are raised in a period of time sounding like the early 1900’s? It’s either a misplaced premonition or just annoying. I guess I’ll keep listening. Hope it pays off.

I’m still pretty confused. I think this book is messing with me. Hmmm…
