Reading one of these every now and then

Part 2 was a short one... while the first part was about arrests, prison, capital punishment and other stuff that can count as a prequel to the GULAG, this one was mostly about the way to GULAG (этап, however this translates). Also a depressing read, but again learned a lot of things about that time I didn't know...

Very tough read, though also unexpectedly good. I only ever read a couple of chapters (they are long!) before switching to some light reading - I wouldn't be able to read all the 1700+ pages in one go.
Just finished the first part - don't expect to finish the book this year...
