Re-reading this because I recently finished watching the show. Show wasn’t as bad as I expected, but now that I’m reading the book again I remember how much better it is that he’s Dana’s husband vs a new lover like in the show. He grounds her in the chaos and it makes him a comforting presence as opposed to the TV Kevin who abandoned her !!
