Pretty good. I recommend "How AI Works" instead because it focuses less on the math details and more on the high level concepts.

Why Machines Learn contains more of the history of math.

A lot of this book is Bill Bryson explaining that we don't really understand the body which isn't particularly informative or helpful.

Do not recommend. This book is a collection of trivia facts. Each chapter focuses on a different part of the body. Doesn't seem like a cohesive story. Maybe I would like it more if the narrator wasn't difficult to understand at times.

The audible narrator isn’t nearly as good as the narrator for a walk in the woods. This narrator is quiet and difficult to understand.

Really like so far

Took a lot of notes. Great book so far. Doesn’t dive deep into math. It does explain concepts well.

Why so many stories of how people died?

Highly recommend so far.

Bram Cohen seems extremely uninformed about diet.

Really enjoyed it so far. The embrace meditation chapter is bad and I recommend skipping it. It’s a podcast episode and not a book chapter.

On chapter 13

Overall solid. 4/5. I prefer the JL Collins book titled The Simple Path to Wealth but there's obviously a lot of overlap because both authors are advocates of index fun investing at Vanguard.

So far the best parts were the foreword and preface. The actual content is an explain of the basic DeFi protocols: Compound, AAVE.

Addicting so far. Would recommend!

The audiobook tries to copy the "Can't Hurt Me" audiobook by weaving in a podcast like discussion prior to each chapter. I'm only half way but it has been poorly executed because the author just repeats the exact examples covered in the chapter as an introduction to the chapter.

The author doesn't like ordered lists and instead labels chapters 1, 1, 1 which makes it difficult to follow.

Financial security is when your revenue from passive income >= your spending.

Author came from a family where money was limited. He shared a touching story about his childhood when he a winter jacket (twice) and his mother struggled to buy replacements.

Really good so far. Would recommend to any new parents. My high level takeaway so far: smart phones and social media is really bad for kids (specifically girls).
Other learning:
- Play is good for kids because it teaches them social skills in a low stakes environment. Outdoors physical play is the best form.
- Humans grow quickly between 0 - 5 then grow slowly until puberty then grow quickly. Perhaps to learn more.

Pretty good so far. Edmond Lau cites a lot of productivity books that I like: The Checklist Manifesto, High Output Management, etc.

I thought the chapter on protein consumption was largely misinformation. Peter Attia should check out "How Not to Age" by Doctor Gregger. Specifically the chapter on protein restriction.

Great so far! Peter Attia is a great narrator.
