I'm reading this again after reading The Nightingale. I read it in high school with a childlike mind, but reading this as a 35 year old woman hits differently. Knowing everything in this book for certain took place in real life makes every sentence nerve-wracking with a scary hint of this could absolutely happen again. As history does seem to want to repeat itself. God bless all the Holocaust victims & families.

Every single chapter is a hit. I loved the original movie so of course I had to read the book. I can't put this down. So much was missing from the movie's story I'm glad to get it now!

I am loving historical fiction atm. I read her book The Women and absolutely smashed that book very quickly. History is messed up man....

So far no spice but the plot is interesting. I am enjoying this bully turned to lover troupe. Even if it is half of the men's swim team 🫣
