I’ve been meaning to read this book for 5 years, but maybe it was for the best I waited so I could read this also as a recently post-graduate with no job prospects and a lot of anxiety, lol

the next generation's storyline might be my favorite compared to the one usually adapted?

I know everyone is haunted by the actions of others… but just one unique name for the next generation of characters, please I beg

i think its meant to be mixed media, but its not really written as such, except for the rare line that implies these are meant to be written diaries by the characters

Now what I was expecting the twist to be, but I suppose as an upper MG/lower YA target book, it makes sense

I still like the narration style but i feel like it's keeping us at arms length with the MC

maybe its because Witch Hat Atelier has been on my mind... but this is giving light WHA vibes

but also I just want good things for Mona even as I know shes prob gonna get swept up in this murder investigation and discover a larger plot

kind of a classic start, not sure how i vibe with the main characters yet

The chemistry and yearning of these two in these past few chapters ramped this up from good to great

this book has some something i dont usually love in romances... but im willing to hear it out, esp with how slow other parts of the relationship seem to be unfolding

i think 'YA, sapphic, summer-set romance between a local and tourist' is a new favorite super specific book pitch for me

Romance is going a bit fast for me, but im still really enjoying it

i appreciate the actual hate on display between these two. too often a hate-to-love falls flat for me, but these two are really gunning for each other to drop off the face of the earth

Yes, some of the prose gets a little too flowery to know truth from reality, but I’m still overall understanding and enjoying the story

I think the flashback chapters are my favorite
