A Russian combination of Don Quijote, and name of the Rose, this novel contains observations on humanity and spirituality. A masterful translation that makes you love the characters and keep reading even when little is happening.

Wow! This book is so much richer than the play. Both are wonderful but if you have the patience to take this story slowly, the depth of the characters and the story lines will reward you.

It’s surprising to me that I’m reading a 5000 yr history of Iraq. I got a D in Mesopotamian history in college. But I’m starting to gain some understanding of Islam and the complexities in that part of the world.

I’ll probably always be reading this book.

Abandoned about half way through. Just not that interesting.

Pretty slow with interesting bits.

I forgot how weird Pynchon is but I always like his stuff.
